Disc golf has grown in popularity in the last few years and San Angelo now has several disc golf course including one on Angelo State University’s campus.
All of these courses are open to the public and there is no fee to play. Sounds like free fun outdoor entertainment. All you need is a set of discs and a disc bag, not to mention water, a hat, and plenty of sun block. Discs are available at Cortese Flag and Academy Sporting Goods.

Brentwood Park
A 9 hole course (w/ boxes and double chained baskets) located in a neighborhood park near Houston Harte freeway. You can get to the course by taking either the Howard or Van Buren exit and driving north about 8-10 blocks. The park has picnic tables, a portable restroom, walking trail, and two lighted tennis courts.
Picnic Bend
A 9 hole course (w/ concrete boxes and baskets) located along the river drive near downtown. The park has picnic tables and restrooms.
Middle Concho
A 18 hole course (w/ marker tees and double chained baskets) located in Middle Concho park more commonly referred to as Grassy Meadows. Head out to Lake Nasworthy on Knickerbocker Rd, turn right on Red Bluff road (@ Pack Saddle BBQ) and travel several miles to the park entrance. Middle concho park is on Spring Creek, offers camping, restrooms, a park, and a boat dock.
Angelo State University
The 9 hole course (w/ post tees and baskets) is located on campus next to the Hardeman Building
